  • This training session took place on 12 March 2024

    This workshop offers a first introduction to Business modeling and allows exchanges on the proposed tools to be considered for fine-tuning your business model, including Q&As and some practical exercise. On the basis of this workshop, more specific follow-up activities will be provided and explained.
    • Understand the principles and importance of circular economy concepts in the context of sustainable business practices.
    • Familiarize participants with the theory and fundamentals of circular business models, including the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle, and regenerate.
    • Introduce participants to the Canvas Business Model framework as a practical tool for designing circular business models.
    • Guide participants through the process of applying circular economy principles to develop their own innovative and sustainable business models.
    • Provide hands-on experience in using the Canvas Business Model to prototype and iterate circular business models for their specific ventures.
    • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants to enhance learning and creativity in circular business model development.

  • By the end of this training session, participants should be able to:

    • Explain the concept and benefits of circular economy thinking and its application to business models.
    • Identify opportunities for implementing circular strategies within their business operations and value chains.
    • Utilize the Canvas Business Model framework to map out key components of their circular business models, including value proposition, customer segments, revenue streams, and resource loops.
    • Analyze and evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of their circular business models in terms of economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
    • Iterate and refine their circular business models based on feedback, insights, and best practices shared during the training.
    • Demonstrate effective communication skills in presenting and pitching their circular business models to stakeholders, investors, and partners.

    Lydia Papadaki is a PhD candidate at the Athens University of Economics and Business (Scholarship awarded by the Academy of Athens). She is a researcher at the Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria (AE4RIA) participating in several EU-funded projects. She received her M.Sc. in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment at University College London (UCL), and her BSc (Distinction) in Economic Theory and Policy at Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Her main areas of interest are economics, innovation acceleration, behavioural economics, circular economy, blue growth, systems innovation, stakeholder engagement and sustainable development.

    • Fill in each section of the canvas with concise yet comprehensive information about your business.

    • We will review and discuss your completed canvases on March 27th.
