The Atlas includes a total of 1,254 different species and, for each one of them, it provides an illustrative card that details:

    1. Taxonomy, with pictures and schematic drawings
    2. Information on similar species and/or synonyms
    3. Morphological characteristics and data
    4. Shape association, linear dimensions association and formulae for cell volume and surface computation
    5. Geographical distribution
    6. Notes on toxicity and resistance stages
    7. Bibliographic references
